HE Hey little girl you look so nice in that pretty red dress with those pretty black eyes! SHE Hello Mr Wolf, well what a surprise To find you here so deep in the night! HE My dear little thing, what's rush? How about supper - just the two of us? SHE Oh Mr Wolf you want me to stay But I fear we'll regret it one day.. BOTH I have the thing you love But the need in you is way too much If I open wide One of us may get lost inside Me or you One of us is going to Need to Die HE My dear little girl - just a bite And you will be consumed with delight! SHE Oh Mr Wolf my hunger's real But they say there's more to love than a meal.. HE They're old and uptight - what do they know? I'm all appetite - you'll help me grow! SHE Oh my love I want you too But my desire may prove your doom BOTH You have the thing I love But the need in me is way too much If I open wide One of us may get lost inside Me or you One of us is going to Need to Die If I taste you Will we know If love kills Or makes you whole Tears you open Takes you home? You have the thing I love But the fear in me is way too much If I open wide One of us may get lost inside Me or you One of us is going to Need to Die I have the thing, the thing you love Die Love Die

about

Songs for The Last Werewolf takes Glen Duncan’s novel as the backdrop for a widescreen emotional cabaret. The album is both a high-concept single sonic journey and a diverse playlist for the eclectic of ear and heart.

The book’s themes of violence, friendship, transformation, love and betrayal are recast in a suite of songs bound together by voices and readings from the text.

THE SUN 4/5 an enthralling, nerve shredding set piece.

BLOODY DISGUSTING 10/10 Most Eclectic Album Of The Year. Fantastic; each song is beautifully crafted and is faithful to the genre it represents.

THE INDEPENDENT 4/5 Coates himself inhabits the predatory character with a suitably lupine loucheness, howling Tom Waits-style, affecting ironic gentility and cheerfully unapologetic.

UNCUT 4/5 Sublime.

WNYC Album of the Week A series of songs and spoken scenes, like a steampunk graphic novel. The story is only suggested, and by the end you’re not sure things are as simple as the opening tracks suggested, a waltz, a torch song, a distorted blues, and a gorgeous love song.

SUBBA CULTCHA 10/10 Sonicaly wondrous, ecstatic energy, part theatre, part radio broadcast, a flirtatious and deadly mic of hedonistic seduction.
