L.A. Noire is a detective action-adventure video game published by Rockstar Games. Set in Los Angeles in the year 1947, the game follows detective Cole Phelps's rise among the ranks of the Los Angeles Police Department as he solves a range of cases across various bureaus.

It was Christmas Eve. I had just settled in for the holiday with my family when my phone rang. Usually I wouldn't have answered on such an occasion but I could see the call came form Los Angeles.

"Can you write songs for a 1940s heroin addicted Jazz singer who may be a pyromaniac?" a voice asked when I picked up.

"Er, yeah. Sure thing" I said

And so I came to write the original songs for the game. They asked me to work with the divine Claudia Brucken of the band Propaganda. That was a total treat: she is a fabulously stylish and talented star. Here she tales the voice of Elsa - the club singer.

We subsequently recorded and performed the tunes with the band but I don't think the soundtrack was released officially so I decided to remake the LA Noire versions just for friends and fans.
